We take on a plant’s technical task and see it through to a result in tonnes and dollars
We have run processing plants and mining complexes that produced up to 5 Mt of finished product a year, and commissioned equipment from global manufacturers there.
Commissioning and ramp-up to nameplate capacity · a second opinion before a major decision · engineers for the length of a project · potash, iron ore, gold, copper, nickel
We take on technical tasks that are too small for a design institute and that plant engineers have no time to pick up.
Start-up in six months. We bring the plant to nameplate capacity by the date in the contract. We prepare the start-up with your team and stay until output reaches design level.
The plant is not reaching nameplate capacity. We raise output to design level, and the gain in tonnes and dollars is written into the contract. We remove what holds output back together with your people.
The project is run by a finance or general manager, and the general contractor comes from another industry. We take the investment project to start-up on schedule, without slippage. We work alongside the project lead as people from the industry.
The chief engineer’s office has more tasks than people. We close the tasks on your list, each against a figure set before work starts. Once a month we choose the next one with the chief engineer.
You need people for the length of a project. We hand the project over on time and at design performance, and your people learn to run it on their own. We provide engineers with a supervising lead who has run a plant department.
You build or supply equipment, but your team lacks industry experience. Your scope is handed over to the client on time, the certificate is signed and the final payment received. Our engineer works in your team until the certificate is signed.
64% of the world’s mining and metals projects worth more than US$1 billion ran over budget or schedule1
L. Hudson, EY · study of 192 projects, 2022
In a study of 41 start-ups, the best plants reached nameplate capacity in about a year. One of the six traits these start-ups shared was technical support during commissioning and ramp-up2
B. MacKinnon, T. McNulty et al., Hatch · ramp-up series, 2025
The plant appoints the start-up managers. We take on the technical support.
For every task we bring in someone who has solved the same one at their own plant
For more than 25 years our people have introduced leading global and Russian technologies at processing plants and mining complexes. We know the fine points of materials, how complex process stages fit together and the people who run them. We pass this experience on to owners, general contractors, contractors and equipment suppliers.
